Buttered Top Sirloin, Broccolini, & Soy Vinegar Dipping Ramen

Top Sirloin, Broccolini, Dipping Ramen

No this was actually the perfect meal for a teak craving which I never crave.

Ingredients

I MADE THIS WITH NO PREVIOUS RECIPE! WOW!

YIELDS 1 PORTION

Steak

  • 8 oz top sirloin

    • You can use literally whatever you want lol, I’m learning how to cook good steaks consistently and this is a cheap cut of steak to practice with.

  • Sichuan peppercorn

  • salt

  • neutral oil, I used grapeseed

  • 3 tsp butter of choice to baste

Broccolini

  • 4-6 stalks broccolini (or more! veg is always good for you)

  • boiling water

Ramen + Dipping Sauce

  • 1 bunch ramen

  • boiling water, 2 tbsp reserved for dipping sauce

  • splash rice vinegar

  • splash soy sauce

Directions

  1. Start boiling water for noodles and broccolini.

  2. Heat your pan of choice and add grapeseed oil. Heat until glistening.

  3. Pat steak dry and season liberally with salt and Sichuan peppercorn.

  4. Place steak onto a hot pan and press down for maximum crust formation.

Since it’s a small steak, I cooked each side for about 3 minutes.

  5. Once the steak is started in the pan, cook the ramen according to the package’s instructions. I threw in the broccolini at the same time to cook all at once.

  6. Flip the steak and finish cooking for 2 more min. Add butter and baste for 20 seconds. Remove from the stovetop and let rest in the oven (off) while you drain the noodles and broccolini and prepare the sauce.

  7. At the bottom of the serving bowl, add reserved broccolini rame broth, and add splash of rice vinegar and soy sauce. The sauce should taste more acidic than salty.

  8. Add noodles to the plate. If the noodles are congealed, simply run under some cold water to loosen up.

  9. Slice up the steak since it had enough time to rest

  10. Add steak and broccolini to the plate

  11. Enjoy!

I’ve since made this many times lol. Great little snack for evening.

Conclusion

I will be making this again any time I am craving a little bit of steak. Most ribeyes or filet mignons are too much meat for me in one sitting. I enjoyed this a lot! The basting butter is insane and the zestiness of the garlic paired very well with the acidic dipping sauce of the noodles. You can go pretty light on the dipping sauce since it’ll lightly coat the noodles as you consume it without leaving you with a puddle of leftover sauce.

So good. I’ll be making this again for sure.

Good luck!
