Matcha Ice Cream
I’ve made this many times over the last 4 years with success each time. Shockingly easy!
Ingredients
This is based on this recipe by Mamaloli. Here is the list of ingredients:
2 egg yolks
25g sugar
50g white chocolate chips
120g whipping cream
1 tbsp Matcha Green Tea Powder
2 tbsp warm water
The texture turns out very similar to that of gelato or softened ice cream. Very creamy. :)
What To Do With It

You don’t need me to tell you this.
Affogato
Add a shot of espresso of your choice. I’d suggest decaf since matcha inherently has caffeine in it. Please excuse my image for being so nasty looking lol.
My Personal History
2019 - I made this as a full ice cream cake for the first time. 10/10 result and taste.
2023 - I made just the ice cream for a Friendsgiving. 9/10 due to user error
2024 - I made just the ice cream again for Tiktok and it’s still great.
Conclusion
I will be making this again. Any time I have extra heavy cream, I’ll probably whip some of this up since I always have matcha and white chocolate on hand.
I can’t say if this is a solid substitute for ice cream made in an ice cream maker, but it’s very easy and tasty as is without the need for a single use appliance!
